Here's a link to 2 videos showing some assembly. The second video shows riveting rear spring perches and frames about 3 minutes into it.

Re: Pinion gear
Assuming the bearings don't look like that, there are no missing or broken teeth and you don't intend to drive it every day it might last for years, I would think that it would be a bit noisy, generate some heat at tear up your pinion. I had some splines silver soldered and recut on a final drive (m...

Re: Making my own mirror arm
I bought one of these, it's pretty darn good. you'd have to locate and drill your own holes. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=223076 This is a new red brass casting of a Model AA mirror arm. The originals were cast iron, but once this is painted black it will look great. As seen in pi...

Re: 28/29 Warford in a 31 AA
Correction: I did have to also swap out one of the brake rod levers with the doglegged lever from a '29 AA cross shaft.

I don't have a high speed speedometer gear set but here's a drawing of where it installs on the end of the drive shaft and torque tube.

Re: Few AA related questions
Ambulance's and herse's had rear shocks, (I'm still looking for some) as to the crack I'd say there's probably not much to worry about if it's that far back on the frame but I'd still try to straighten it and weld it up, somebody must have had something bolted up through that giant (extra) hole that...

Re: 28/29 Warford in a 31 AA
That could help a lot Nick, I can see how it could be a problem if you were missing this "oil washer dam" ( 2034 bearing retainer) and it might very well be the root of my issue. unfortunately the 3 speed is no longer on the bench but installed in the vehicle so I can't easily look for it....

28/29 Warford in a 31 AA
Awhile back I installed a 28/29 warford in a 31 AA, it's a bit noisy but it works good except that it's apparently leaking (or forcing) gear oil into the 4 speed transmission. After about a 75 mile trip I find the (Snyder's 600 wt) gear oil level in the warford to be down about 8 ounces and the leve...
