Have you come up with an answer or solution to the trouble with the spare tire carrier on your 88-A bed ?

I have the same situation with my spare carrier, it acts like it wants another inch of travel to engage the swivel bolt. I have early 31 rims without the later offset. I was able to flex the carrier with the use of a floor jack enough to engage them. Needles to say it is very snug.

That's where I got mine, heavy guage, nice fit, works real good.
