Re: Trailer and tow vehicle to transport model AA?
I use my 1994 dodge v10 dually manual trans and a hydraulic tilt bed trailer that I built myself. Seriously though, any full size pickup or suv with a properly maintained trailer and brakes can pull these trucks. They only weigh between 2800 and 4000 lbs. Before I got a bit smarter, I used to pull e...

Mold help- the fuzzy white kind
Just pulled her out of storage, and am planning to drive her to work tomorrow, It rained quite heavily and the salt is off the roads now. It has been warm and damp here all winter. I have mold on the cloth under my roof. I don't want to use bleach for obvious reasons, and besides, it doesn't kill it...

Did not call, but they usually list something as out of stock on their site when it is.

Re: Alternator
I have a 12v GM one-wire on my A P/U. I bought it at a battery shop for $36, a smaller pulley from Speedway for $15 and spent the better portion of a day screwing around building brackets (the "H" bracket was the doosey, it had to be offset to align the pulley properly.) I can tell when t...

Re: Alternator
Nothing special. There should be instructions, and no wiring needs to be changed, if your wiring is all as original. All of the wires that are currently hooked to the cutout, get hooked to the terminal on the alternator. They say you should change the ammeter to a larger one, but I didn't and everyt...

Re: Alternator
I have one on mine, since I had problems rebuilding mine, and the rebuilder that was local retired. Doesen't look proper, but then again, neither does the K/N airfilter, and the oil filter doesn't exactly belong, either. It does work well, though-no adjusting, or problems with overcharging. You puri...

single slat bumper
So, I have been thinking-dangerous, I know. Since I had to get my replacment from a 38 firetruck, what years was the 5" x 62" single slat bumper used. My 31 dump has a 3.5" tall bumper, that is a little shorter in length. My 31 MP Express has always had a 5" tall bumper, and sinc...

Where I found parts today.
Had to run to Eau Claire, and I found an incredible salvage yard today, and was able to find the front bumper I was looking for. Hew has 300 acres of cars and trucks from the 30's to today. I walked past a couple of 32 ford BB W/ V-8 engines, possibly with a pair of good wheels on each one. There ar...

Re: 1930-1931 AA Chassie Parts
Would have been nice to get to his yard, and get that bumper, and a few spare wheels, but I got what I needed today, so it is open for the picking from anyone else.

Re: Tires
My father put a full set of 7 Lucas 600-20 on in 1972, and they are now just starting to weather check. They are decent in the snow when I move the truck from the storage garage to the heated shop when I work on her in the winter. I will be calling lucas for pricing in the spring, at least to get 4 ...

Re: Run to town
I put it in the trans and rear. Have no leaks on the truck, other than the persistant rear main leak that I have to investigate this winter.
