I have the perfect one but unfortunately Im in IL :(
I wouldn't think it would be bank busting to box up a hood and ship it. If you pull the panels apart it should go into a relatively small box.

Re: Truck progress photos

Jeff - that is really looking nice. I am not at all surprised though. Especially after seeing the pictures of what you did on your Stanley Steamer. Your a true craftsman.

Re: Hello

There is a seal on each hub on the inboard side of the wheel bearing. There is a chance that you could get them off without damage and re-use them but I would not. Go ahead and order new seals before you start the job. There is a hardened washer on the end of the axle that the nut tightens up agains...

Re: Looking for some advice on AA trucks

Alan, Welcome to the forum. Sounds to me that you would be a good candidate to own an AA. When I found my AA in late 2010 I knew pretty much nothing about them but had always had an ability to love and restore old stuff. Jumped in with both feet and have learned a heck of a lot since that time. I'm ...

Re: Canadian Timken differential

Nice to see the inside of something like this. I posted some pictures of the differential in my 29 AA a few years ago. http://forums.aa-fords.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3844&p=20582&hilit=worm+drive#p20582 Perhaps when you get yours all sorted out you could lay it out similar to what I did and we could...

Re: WANTED: 30-31 Commercial Cowl

Thanks, but shipping would probably make it cost-prohibitive. Really need to find one in Southern New England - something I could pick up. You might be looking for a while if you limit yourself to that small of an area. I just shipped 3 engine blocks on a pallet and it was less than $150.00 Certain...

Re: Front radius rods question

I think scrapping it is a good plan. Lots of good axles and radius rods available.

Re: Front radius rods question

Ouch. Yes I believe that they are the same. With damage like that I would be looking really hard at the axle to make sure it is straight.

Re: pics.....

Your phone is taking the pictures in a size that is too large for posting. Try a google search on how to reduce the size of photos on your phone. I've never tried to reduce photo sizes on my Iphone. Always transferred them to my lap top to do it.

Re: 28 AA brake adjust advice

Arching breaks: I just did my fronts. Did it with a 1-1/2" sanding drum from 'Menards' mounted in the drill press. Took a plate of steel, mounted to the table on sq. tubes so it slides, with a 1/4 inch bolt to adjust it to correct distance from pivot point ( 5/16" dowel pin) to sanding drum. Measur...

Re: 28 AA brake adjust advice

Did you have the pads arched to match each drum? Woven linings need to be used with steel drums and composite pads with cast iron drums. Sounds like you have the arms adjusted correctly at 15 degrees. Do not shorten brake rods to pull them past center. You will loose braking power doing that. To me ...

Re: Information on 1928 seat support

No they are not too complicated to make. I made one to replace a broken one on my truck. Does anyone have one loose that you can take measurements off of for Brian?
If you don't get some measurements Brian let me know and I will pull my seats and try to get some accurate ones for you.

Yes. It and the HAMB are down. They are having troubles. Ryan was hoping to have it up and running today. Must have been a major glitch.
