E-Brake and shift lever

My two emergency brake levers (30-31 AA ) show no factory paint and no plating.
Were these finished in a butler plate or left plain?
Same question for the shift levers, one's shows black paint, the other just rust.
Sorry I don't have the JS bible yet.

Spring Clamps

Just going over the front springs and I notice the clamps are riveted not bolted like on the Model A.
Must one grind theses off to disassemble the spring pack? and do they make new rivets?

Re: topwood fabrication

One suggestion on your template piece. Where the oval slots are for the roof material tacking area, try to get as much wood as possible to hold the top on. In your pick it shows you could get half again as much wood to be available for tacking. This really helps with the roof material rough in, fina...

Re: Gas Leak - Help Needed.

I replaced my gas filter on my firewall with the new reproduction model. I used my old gas line/tube from the tank outlet valve to the filter inlet at the firewall. I have a gas leak at the connection between the gas line and the filter inlet at the firewall. I have tried to tighen as much as I dar...

Re: spare tire mount

Farel of Vancover My swing arm for spare tire has the hinges mounted on top of cross member, mine is riveted on. If you would like pics e-mail me at terry_rose2002@yahoo.com Thanks Terry, that would be interesting. It's looking more and more like this second frame was an Express bed from factory. M...

Re: Spare tire mount

Thanks for that Neil, I wonder how long this truck ran as an Express, and when someone decided to repurpose it as a deck.

Ratz! I had read that, but did not think to check it out. Oh well I am going to start rebuilding the springs for both frames so I'll take some comparison shots when I get them all together

Spare tire mount

One of the odd ball things on my second frame is the Spare mounts. It had the rear under frame mount like used for the deck trucks but also has a reciever for a side mount on the passenger side about the middle of where the box would sit like an express? How many styles used the box side mounts? You...
