Re: 1930/31 Loose Ring gear Rivets
While anything is possible, reforming those rivets will be difficult as the entire assembly is going to suck the heat away from the rivets while you try to re-peen them to a tight fit. I see a lot of oxy/acetelene in your future as well as a large rivet buck, and a really large rivet gun. I would im...

I think that was one of Dodge's first attempts at building a dirt plow for road building.

Re: Play in Rear Spring Seat Assembly
Keep in mind all the weight of the rear of the truck will wear the top clamp and top of the axle. I found a couple better fitting ones but still needed to build a couple areas up with weld and filed down to fit tighter. if there is still excessive play you can file the flats of the clamps down a bit...

Re: FAQ for AA dummies?
Toshik, if you are shopping for the right truck to use, try for the four speed with the High speed rear end. It will get up to 45 mph pretty quickly and almost 50 on the down hill. I had to alter my seats to fit and I am 6'2" and 236 Lbs. Use my truck every chance I get hauling what ever, where...

Re: How much weight?
Can't say I have been that heavy for sure, but I have had serious weight on it and it never had a problem with it. I moved my father's collection of parts in three loads with my high racks installed and loaded engines, rear ends, springs, and transmissions and axles and well...you name it. Truck wor...

Re: Finding reverse gear and floppy gear shift
One thing I've noticed is when cold the trans may be sticky to find reverse.
I usually give the engine a good rev up and it slides in no problem. After the trans lube is warmed up I have no trouble at all.

Pretty sure I used up most of three quarts of 600W when I filled mine up to the top plugs on both.

Re: Spring Bushings
Hand filing was only done on the final stages and it wasn't difficult as long as you have a new replacement bushing to use as a guide. I started at the out board edge and file until the bushing fit and then worked all the tight areas until the bushing could be slid right up to the pivot mount. after...

Re: Spring Bushings
The spring pivots can wear a heck of a lot on the bottom. I flipped my frame up-side down and welded and filed them back to round to fit the new bushings. It took some time but I don't believe they'll ever have to be done again in my lifespan.

If you are not hauling any loads, I run with 35 PSI but if I am hauling say sixty sheets of wall board I'll bump it up to 40 PSI on the duallies
