For Sale - 1929 AA Flatbed
I’m in the processes of downsizing and I need to sell my 1929 AA Ford. I’ve completed 95% of the mechanical restoration but I have stalled out on the body work. It’s been about 5 years since I’ve had a chance to work on it due to other projects and priorities. I need to sell everything. Including my...

Re: Body Work Advice
Thanks, everyone, for the feedback. I think my cab is in good shape. No major rust issues except on a couple of the sub rails toward the front rocker panels that will either need to be strengthened or replaced. As you can see below, I have some dent issues in rear quarters but I have donor metal to ...

Body Work Advice
I was wondering if anybody had any advice on a reliable Model A shop for body work? I've gotten all the mechanicals done and built a test rig and driven it... I now want to get the body started I've never done that before and don't want to learn on my AA. I've put too much time (and the wife would s...

Re: First Test Drive
Thanks everybody. It was definitely fun after I got it started... It took me a couple weekends to iron out a problem with the lower distributor plate and trace down a bad float in the carburetor. Definitely a milestone day I won't forget with my 29.

First Test Drive
I was able to get my 29AA started and took it for a short test drive last weekend. I have a before picture in the video but it didn't make the upload to YouTube for some reason. Anyway, this was the first time I was able to drive a Model A and bonus... it was mine! I still need to further adjust the...

Rear Axle (Worm) Issues
I’m experiencing a problem with my rear axle; it’s a 29 worm. I finally got my front end together and put tires on it to roll it into the driveway. Worked great (going forward) and I was very happy. However, when I tried to push it back into the garage, the rear wheels locked up and it wouldn’t roll...

Re: Chassis and frame coating ?s
Chris, That's true but there were a couple of other factors that went into my decision: First, I live in a bi-level home with my garage directly under the bedrooms. The paint fumes tend to invade the bedroom. Read, wife NOT happy. That means I have to take most of the major stuff out to be painted s...

You could also try Bert's in Colorado. I was able to pick one up from them when I needed one last year.

Re: Chassis and frame coating ?s
Hi Scott, From the pictures I've seen, I think it really is a matter of preference. I've seen great results with either option. I personally went with powder coating. The first picture shows the frame shortly after it was the powder coated. The detail isn't the greatest... The second one shows a lit...

Re: 1929 Grill Shell
Jared -- According to the judging standards (section E-4), "Heavy commercial vehicles used passenger radiator cores from 1928 into early 1930, when a four-row, flat tube radiator was introduced. The addition of one row of tubes made it necessary to punch the mounting bolt holes in the radiator ...

Brake Rebuild - Before & After
I can't imagine why the brakes didn't work prior to rebuilding...
One down (driver's side rear) and three to go.

Re: HKDude w/six blade fan
Hey Russ, Well, if I ever get it complete enough to start I will let you know how it runs with that fan. Ha! I generally try to keep my restoration as close to original as possible. As I was thinking about a used or rebuilt 4 blade fan taking out my new shinny radiator (which I haven't purchased yet...

Brake Rod Lengths
Does anybody have the brake rod lengths for a 29AA, 131" WB, with a rocker arm? I'm looking for the rod length from the service brake cross shaft arm to rocker arm and then the rocker arm to rear brake drum lever. My original rods were/are in bad shape but my best guess is 39" for the cros...
