Re: Tires for my '30 AA dump truck

I'm sure they will work on the rear, running singles only. I wouldn't use anything bigger than 6.00 on the front for brake rod clearance. The big tires on the back may give the truck a slight rake, but you will get the advantage of tire diameter to give you a poor man's high speed rearend. Will the...

Re: Tires for my '30 AA dump truck

I do not have duels on the back. I have the lug bolts for duels but do not have the extra wheels. At this time a new set of Corkers is out of the questoin. Too meny other projects and on fixed income.

Tires for my '30 AA dump truck

I have been having a problem finding some affordable 600 X 20 tires for my truck. I came up with four new old stock Firestone 750 X 20 tires with tubes and liners. Has anyone tried using this size on Model AA truck like mine? Maybe just on the rear. It looks as though I would have fender and steerin...

Re: Good sheet metal

Bill - have a great time and enjoy.

The old rust can wait and is not worth getting worked up over.

Best Regards

Re: Look what followed this Newbie home the other day !

Well I got the fender on and the adjustments made and welded back together. Actually I think this right fender is in better shape then the original left fender. Both are pretty rough. Also repaired the left door hendges that someone had torched off, and patched the bottom quarter of the door with so...

Re: Look what followed this Newbie home the other day !

I promised I would post some pictures of the sheet metal parts I have, but when I got home Lee was dumping some realy hard rain on us! There's always tomorrow! As for Grayhound, I've heard of there shipping service but I've never tried them. Bill James I found a right fender that will work. It does...

Thanks for the info on the doors. Now I know what to look for. I could probably fix my door rust. but the hendges being cut off makes it a differant story..

Re: Look what followed this Newbie home the other day !

I have a good set of fenders, one cracked, one not, I forget which side is cracked. Also have two running boards, and the splash shields. trouble is I live in VA. Shipping would be a bear. Bill James Bill - the fender would be hard and expenseive to ship. However, I do need the right short apron ju...

Re: Look what followed this Newbie home the other day !

That is good news that an A fender will fit the AA truck. I think I might be able to come up with one of those.

Re: Look what followed this Newbie home the other day !

Regarding the fender that is missing - I have a couple '27 Essex Coupe fenders and just for kicks I compared and held in place the Essex fender to the AA. To my surprise it is very close. With a little welding and splicing alomg the frame mount it would work and be passable for the original fender. ...

Re: Look what followed this Newbie home the other day !

Shelby - Thanks for the input and encouragement. To put this body back complete I am going to need a right fender and a drivers door. The fender is missing and the door is rusted off several inches at the bottom. Also, the previous ower cut the door hendges off (the door portion) with a torch for so...

Re: Look what followed this Newbie home the other day !

Shelby - I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. Do you think the back of my cab was added on to the original '30 AA cab? I can't see any signs of it being change but I will look closer if you think it does not look original to the truck.
Thanks

I'm not aware of it being anything but original, but I suppose it is possible. What makes you think in may be a car body?
