Re: Front End Adjustments

Thank you Bob. I did not know that about the flat edge. I will check into this - and sand down the nut a bit.

Front End Adjustments

Forgive me in advance for not knowing the correct terminology of the following… My 1931 AA had the death wobble going on and I discovered the front bearings were both loose. I tightened them both and it corrected the problem for the most part, until I drive over a rough patch of road. The bearings b...

Re: What is it?

After searching for several hours on line for what this could be... my best guess is maybe they used it as a pry bar for the split rims or tires? Whatever it is, I'd keep it under the seat just because it's a cool find!

Let us know if you ever figure it out.

Re: 88-A Light Bar Proximity to Radiator Shell

Hey Scott,

Here's a couple pictures of mine. I show two inches from the radiator fins to the center of the bar. Good looking truck! Looks pretty complete.

Hope it helps.

Re: Correct Wheel for a January 1931 Truck

Hi Dave, Since the factory could have used whatever inventory they had at the time, either would be appropriate for your truck. My truck is an early 1931 AA as well, and has a mixture of the two! However, I expect the mixed wheels happened later on in life, and not necessarily at the factory. Hope t...

Re: Relocated fuel tank

I believe you quoted the wrong comment. The comment you quoted (which was mine) makes no mention of butchering or anything being irreversible. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk I stand corrected on the miss quote, but I do care what people think of me and my truck, that is the only reason I had ...

Re: Relocated fuel tank

Good idea about the overflow tank. That's interesting about the oil. Where will it be dripping into?

Re: Relocated fuel tank

To each his own. I have one of those fake shiny paint jobs, but it is stock otherwise, and I drive it all the time. It's very reliable and fun to drive. I guess fake is in the eye of the beholder. Most AA trucks came out of the factory with un-polished body paint, but as I recall, it was an up charg...

Re: Generator

Hi Ron,

Have you tried calling Gilroy Generator? They are an old school shop and we've used them for many years for our farm equipment and Model A's. Google them for the info - hopefully they can help!

Which brings up a question that I've had for years... Do any of the aftermarket manufactures replicate these parts in the butler finish? I have never seen them for sale. If not, how are people getting high scores on their vehicles for accuracy of those parts? Is the finish something we can replicat...
