Re: Correct operators manual for late 1928 AA

Don Turley is a national judge, and deals in parts, tools, and manuals. He would be the guy to ask. I’ve talked with him, and bought a manual from him. Nice guy to deal with. E-mail him. don@donturley
You can look him up here on Ford Barn, search his name, Don Turley.

Be sure you know the right way to crank it also, always pull up, never push down. In neutral and parking ...

Re: 1931 AA Rear Leaf Spring Orientation

According to the Judging Standards and Restoration Guidelines, "The tie bolt of a spring leaf stack was not centered end to end. The longer section of the assembly was to the rear except for the AA-5560-E and AA-5560-F springs. " The AA-5560-E springs were used on the Funeral Coach, Ambulance, Panel...

Re: 1929 AA hydraulic lever

In the search bar at the top of the page, I typed in 'Wood hydraulic dump truck' and a few other posts showed up with people who also own Wood equipped trucks. Maybe you could contact them for help? Also possibly google 'Ohio salvage yards' or 'vintage salvage yards. There were a few in my area that...

Re: 1929 AA hydraulic lever

Hi Matt,

Are you talking about the PTO lever, or one to run the hydraulics for the box? There were several dump body manufacturers, and some had different set ups to do this. Knowing the brand of dump body you have may help, or a picture of your current set up.

Re: New Guy with AA questions

The dump body on my truck is a hydraulic unit, manufactured by the Marion Steel Body Co., of Marion,Ohio. I have traced the history of our truck from when it was new. It was originally bought as a cab and chassis, and the dump body installed by a shop in the purchasers home town, who was a dealer fo...

Re: New Guy with AA questions

Weight would be 4000 - 4400 depending on mechanical, gravity, or hydraulic type dump body, hydraulic typically the heaviest. Best way to ID after you buy it, would be to remove the cab and left side running board and splash apron. ID number was originally also stamped on the left top frame rail, abo...
