Gotta agree with Chris.
A good pair of doors were bringing close to that a year ago. Not sure what the market is today. There has to be other good parts there too.
How about the mirror on the one next to it. I could use one of those.

Re: Pix of Dump Bed
Is there any name cast into it any where? I have one that is similar except it has gearing that allows two speeds and the crank and gears are on the drivers side. It is on the truck in my avatar. Here are a couple pages from a brochure of it that was with the truck. http://img.photobucket.com/albums...

Those are the plug wires.
Do you see the valve ( rocker arm) cover on top the engine.

Re: Heres another one.
I have thought about that but it lives inside now so it doesn't get wet and I spray all the nooks and crannies with penetrant on ocassion. I believe it was barn kept most of it's life which helped the preservation of it and it came from western Ks. where the trees and corner posts are scarce so the ...

Re: Heres another one.
Thanks for the compliment. It is a fun truck and a real crowd pleaser. It has a home built bed and a mechanical hoist. No plans to restore. Long story short. I have another one just like it I am restoring and came across this one in my search for doors for the other. It was a deal I couldn't pass up...

Here is the same pic.
It is just a plain stock 1930 82A with a home built grain box.

Re: gear ratio
The 5.17 will give you a higher speed where the 7.25 will gear it down and give you more pulling power. Jusst depends on what you want. Most are looking for the higher speed.

Re: 28 rear end problem
When you turn one axle while holding the ring gear does the other axle turn the oposite direction? If so it is working properly.
If you can turn one axle without the other one or the carrier turning there is a problem with the spiders.

Re: AA model identification
Just going by the numbers and your pictures I'd say someone put a later AA engine in a '30 AA truck and then at some time the cab was replaced by a 32 cab. A lot of swapping around has been done on some of these things over the years. Anything to keep them going and a lot of parts interchange with a...

Re: Ford Model AA Step Frame
TOOLHAWK was building one a year or so ago. I haven't seen any updates lately but he was making pretty good progress at the time. If this works here is a link to one of the threads about it. http://forums.aa-fords.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1011&p=3517&hilit=standrive#p3517 another link htt...

Yes
Ford switched to that style wheels and rear axle in Jan. 1930 but carried over the 28/29 style cab until about June '30. when they changed over to the '30/'31 cab.

Re: Identification of aa
Can you tell how many digits in the frame #.
6 digits - AA2935xx - would indicate a July 1928 engine build date.
7 digits - AA2935xxx - would indicate Feb 1930
Feb 1930 would be consistant with the wheels and rear crossmember on the truck.

Re: Identification of aa
I agree with Jared but believe they quit stamping the date in the gas tank sometime around mid '29. The frame number is the best indicator. According to the wheels it looks to be an early '30 which used the same sheet metal as the 28/29 up until about mid year. A lot of things got swapped out over t...

Re: Front wheel/hub assembly
It definitely mounts like the top picture but could this baffle be for a rear wheel. Are the spacers for mounting the e-brake carrier against. It has been a while but that is my guess.
