Has anyone heard from Toolhawk lately.
Just wondering how the standrive is coming along.
I think it is a really interesting project and I have enjoyed watching it progress.

Re: New to Ford Model AA World
I have to agree with Drew. You can get in together and running and then work on it as you want with out tearing it all apart. If you want a large restoration project there is nothing wrong with that approach either. Here is a pic of mine. It often attracts more attention that the ones that are all p...

Cool engine.
They still use those one lung poppers on some of the wells in Wyo. Not that old though I'm sure.
I would sure love to have one of them to play with sometime.

What trans do you have?
28/29's had a three speed which would be the same as a caar while 30/31 would be a 4 sped which would be different.

Get a top wood kit from one of the many suppliers.
The front and rear header and side rails set on top of and fasten to what you have and the ribs connect the front to rear and then are covered.

Re: early 30
That is an interesting picture with the mix of 82A and 82B's lined up together.
One would think that that should be some of the latest 82A's but they have the early gas tank caps and headlights.
Is there any indication of where or when the pic was taken.

Can anyone explain how this set-up is supposed to work? http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g224/1931FordRPU/B7-ScgWkKGrHqRl0EyjCyMTVBM1N3NMbw0_351.jpg Remove the hub nut and screw that on the end of the axle. Leave the wheels on the side you are working on setting on the ground and jack the other si...

Re: flatbed
That is too narrow for an AA but the right length.
I think the F-2 and F-3's in the late '40's early 50's used a bed with dimensions close to that.

Re: how do I download a picture on avatar --
There is a size limit that is allowed. I'm not sure what it is but I believe it tells you when you try to up load one. Right click on the pic you want to use and then click on properties. You can see what the dimensions of the pic you are trying to upload is. If it is within the allowed size then so...

Re: poor brakes on our early 28 .
I wonder if the brakes are set up so most of your braking with the pedal is occuring with the front brakes which being new and not yet contoured to the drums don't provide much stopping power while using the E-brake applys the rears which are larger and worn in to fit the drums.
Just a thought.

Re: No spark??
You should have 6v to the coil at all times. The ign switch is in the wire from the coil to the dist. You said you had 6v at both sides of the coil so you might still have a switch problem. Check for 6v at the points with the switch on. If you have voltage there you probably have a problem with ther...
