It appears that I was just lucky with the washing of the tanks. That is a great picture of the inside of them!

Re: Rust in gas tank problem
I have had excellent results using a high end (very high pressure) pressure washer with lots of soap (mine looked like a rabid dog because of the foam). I found that the pressure washer and heat removed nearly all of the rust from frames, fuel tanks and other sheet metal if used properly. The tanks ...

Re: Flushing the rearend with diesel?
That's right. Any gear box will have some particles and the gear box can be just fine as long as they don't get into close fit areas. I haven't found a gear box without some particles that can cause problems when they are in solution. Most are designed with a place for these particles to settle out ...

Re: Flushing the rearend with diesel?
I tried that years ago with a small transmission that was out of the vehicle and on my bench. The transmission worked fine but I wanted it to be as clean as everything else in the car. The solvent/deisel dissolved the thick grease in the bottom of the transmission and other places allowing any very ...

Re: 6 to 12
Shelby Messer is right! Here is a picture of the AA running with the coil sitting on a rag on top of the engine. There is no connection to the case of the coil. It ran great for the around the block check out before final assembly. 6 volt auto electrical systems work great if the wiring is large eno...

Re: Best Fuel Choice
All of our As, AAs and Ts run on some of the worst rot gut stuff there is as long as it is clean. Haven't noticed any difference in power weather it is low or high grade either. Our 31 A pickup has used it all for over the 53 years that we have had it.
