Although there are some parts I would like to have. This thing is ruff but the asking price was 2K which ...

Re: stakebed/flatbed strips
let me highly recommend mar-k for an alternate source. www.mar-k.com Their strip profile, I believe, is not period correct but its nice! They punch the strips with the correct spacing. They have the correct lengths in stock Strips have the correct square holes They are great folks to work with! The ...

Re: door dovetail
ah-ha found out what was wrong! on the door jamb there is an extra piece of wood that is attached to the jamb. It runs from just below the latch to approx the floor. This extra piece is notched for the dovetail and, lower, a bumper. For the right/left pair of these woden parts I paid 60$ but as my l...

Re: door striker plate shild
now i'm confused. (ok not a dificult thing to do) I have the vintique door striker plate for the 28/29 pickup part no a-80331 which looks like the closeup of the older door frame a few post able, which leads to two questions: A) how is this part mounted to the wood, a pair of wood scres? b) what is ...

stake "connectors?"
what do you call those parts that connect one stake side to another?
Are they remade or are there workable equivalents available?

really its not a dumb question
I plan on taking the entire bed off the frame while the cab is in the body shop.
so I need to make some sort of structure to hold the bed.
Question, what does a 99 inch bed weigh? please specify with or without the wood.

Re: bed strip hole spacing
Thanks Radar it is a 9" ford (just replaced this weekend!) with coil overs and a four link setup. I will need to tinker with the coilovers as they are a little light for the stock bed thickness. Going whole hog with the 5/4 thick red oak and polished stainless strips. Motor is a slightly warmed...

Re: bed strip hole spacing (warning potentially diserbing ph
hopefully attached is a picture. also hopefully I have not insulted any traditionalist. as you can tell the end of the bed has been modiied, the part that I call "ribs" is visible as there is no wood. My goal is to make this truck as correct as possible, yet make it a good driving hot rod....
