Re: Hello

The dual wheels on the back suggest this truck is an early 1930. Also the U bolts on the rear spring have the nuts on the bottom, a 1929 running change.

Re: 28 Windshield info

Snyder's Model A parts list A37323/24-AR called Model A Top Clamping Bracket. With a pair of these maybe a header of wood or plexiglass could be added to the top of your windshield. A view of these parts are on Snyder's online catalogue. Best, Ed

Re: rear fender braces

I have a bracket not attached to a vehicle yet. If you need a tracing of it or a xerox of it let me know. It's not for sale. Another thought is get a banged up front bracket and bend it to shape. A friend did this with success. Pilsyahs@gmail.com

When putting offers on AA buy and sell it might help to include the state that these parts are located especially if you are suggesting local pickup.

DPLA (Digital Library of America) Check out Pender Grocery Delivery Truck. Interesting side mount on an early AA.

Re: My 28-29 AA title says 31

The truck is an early 1930, Jan-June period. Ford used up the 1929 style headlights on some of the early 1930 trucks even though the official Ford photo shows the 1930-1930 style headlights. The sheet metal is correct for this period.

Re: differential gear ratio

The images on the housing as shown above are hallmarks and will tell the restorer NOTHING. They may refer to suppliers of housings or they may indicate batches of stampings in case of defects; a mystery yet to be solved. Obviously not all AA housings were made in the same casting mold; maybe they in...

Re: Wood hoist paint color

If you Google Gar Wood dump truck ads or Gar Wood hoists there are images of ads from popular journals from the 1930s. Looks like the cab/dump/hoist are all the same color as suggested above.

Re: Canadian AA fire truck

Does anyone know if the wood spoke wheels used on Canadian AAs are Lincoln wheels? Lincoln used wheels like this with multiple hub bolts. Henry would never let an oversupply of an item go to waste, as Lincolns in 1929 and later increasingly used wire wheels. Might be worth some future study. Regards...

AA trucks on film 1930 London England

Pathe filmed London Traffic Scenes (1930) available on Youtube. At:02 is the rear of an 1930AA, but the interesting stuff starts at 0:35. A 1929 AA with whitewalls is followed by a fleet of Wilson Bros. vans. First another 1929 followed by an early 1930 followed by a Chevrolet hiding another Wilson ...
