Re: emergency brake are bushing?

Scott,
My 1930 AA had cotter keys through the connector. I just wish that I could have been able to get the pins out after the cotter key was removed. I ended up cutting the connector off as I explained at the start of this thread. Thanks for all of the info.

I tried soaking in kroil and heat with a torch. I ended up cutting the bushing off. I have not seen any...

1930 AA truck seals

I am rebuilding the brake system on a 1930 AA Truck. I have two questions. While I can get the seals that are installed in the back of the drums to limit the grase from the bearing from leaking into the brakes there appears to be a bushing(and possible seal) on the actual axle shaft. Does anyone kno...

Re: 1930 Ford AA Brake Question

I was pretty sure that this was the official answer. What I really wanted to know if it was OK to lightly turn them in the real world. I also see that you can buy a slightly thicker lining for drums that have been turned but not sure how safe and accepted this was.

1930 Ford AA Brake Question

I bult a puller and was able to remove my rear drums. The drums are lightly scored. I notice that these drums are pretty thin. Is it OK to have them turned? Also any recommendation on relining the breaks? Is it worth buying a Rivet tool and doing them yourself or is it recommended to send them off a...
