Re: Original AA colors

It regard to paint prices, they are insane. However, professional series Rustolem alkyd enamel paints are much better than most people think. I have developed a formula for Rock Moss Green enamel using off the shelf Rustolem paints. I am working on Rock Moss Blue, Gun Metal Blue and others. If you ...

Re: Steering worm removal.

So? what is the 'process' for making all the adjustments? First the worm bearings? so they just are free, then the side set screw just to take up all the side to side slack. Then the offset one to bring the sector gear into the worm with close to zero slop?? Looking for some experienced guidance. KVO

Re: King pins

Just think about where the 'load' is carried. The axel pushes down on to the bearing then the bearing onto the spindle. ( I think)?

Re: Original AA colors

As Bob C states, those are the colors for AAs that I have as information in an antique Ford repaint manual. However, I have heard that fleet trucks could be any color known to man, and that includes wheel colors. I often wonder how many contemporary restorers scratch their heads regarding the paint...

Re: Two Bulb Headlights

Admittedly I am a long way from needing turn signals, just thinking ahead. What about a wiring harness? Should I buy a stock one and add wiring for signals later if I need to or buy one prewired for signals? Is it easy enough to run harness after body is assembled or on bare frame? I went with a ba...

Re: Original AA colors

Hey! Those yellow wheels are not original color. That is Marigold Yellow to match the striping on the rear That my Dad in law did after he pulled it out of the river bottoms. It resided in the bottoms for 35 yrs.. I know the entire history on this one.. :D

I haven’t painted a vehicle in years. Looking at automotive paint prices; whoaa!!! Mine might end up being Rust-Oleum too! Kim, I would like to see pictures of your truck.

Re: Steering worm removal.

Got the worm off the shaft. Took lots of heat, patience and a heavy puller set up. Press would have been easier. The shaft is taper splined. Looks like I’ll need a sector too. The shaft on my sector is worn egg shaped. Got everything ordered. My old box was dry when I took it apart. Get everything ...

Re: Two Bulb Headlights

That will work. But think about it, will people put one and one together with the light that high and back from the front. personally I would not worry about the frt. turn signals until you have everything else done.. I have the same front signals as Dave. even wired the same way..
