I could be wrong but the deck body shown looks like one from an earlier truck (Ford Scrypt)
I see the Ford Script and it is different than mine. I have a '28 and it says " Ford Truck" on the rear. Also different steak pockets. So, not a '28???

moving on to breaks.

I got my cooling situation under control. The steering gear leaking I have a direction and plan. What I need now is your input / secrets to getting my breaks to work better. I have floaters in the front, new linings, and have done a bunch of adjusting. But still have a "week" performance. It stops b...

Re: coolant Temp.

I think a lot of this has to do with what type of Radiator is installed. Mine is a standard Model A . Not an AA heavy duty. So it will not remove heat as quickly.. Also I have not removed the internal web just inside the inlet as described in a service bulletin. That will be a winter project..

Re: Headlights and Horn In-op

And I thought I would just get a restored AA and drive it without much hassle. Got to get use to I reckon, and figure out the constant tweaking to keep it going. I will get at it between now and this weekend to see what I can get fixed. I hate electrical worst of all mechanical work as I have the l...

Re: Headlights and Horn In-op

Look up the drawing of the switch at https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/catalog-request Then you can figure out how it works.. Not a big deal. Also what I ended up doing to resolve the same type issue on mine was to run a seperate Ground wire to everything.. Grounding thru the body and frame connect...

Glad that you won the battle on the overheating!!

Steering box leaking at the bottom end or at the end of the sector?
I think end of sector. I'll be looking into rebuilding the sector with bearings and new seal..

Re: Thermal Dynamics

Found more info: ( I have a lot to look into).. Most Model A head gasket profiles do not properly cover the two center steam holes in the Model B head and block, and are unable to effectively seal those holes. The use of a Model A gasket profile with a Model B head and/or Model B block often...

Re: Thermal Dynamics

Still learning: Higher compression ratios can also result in better cooling (compared to lower CR) despite higher combustion chamber pressures and temperatures at the same speeds and loads. Higher ratio heads tend to run cooler because more of the fuel energy is converted into power, and less into h...

Re: Setting timing with test light.

You are getting closer. Do you have full movement of the arm coming out of the distributor? In other words \does the lever touch each side of the distributor body when the lever is fully up and when the lever is fully down? Yes. Full travel of plate. This gives a max. of 40 deg. adv. which is way m...

I changed the oil in the under drive and tiny specs of brass filled the old oil, the oil was 1 yr old, just wanted to see if everything was ok, why is this?

Matt
Well , What is in there that is made of Brass? The bushings is all I can think of. So I would think one is shot.
