Re: back fire seems to run lean

If choking it makes it run better then it is most likely that there is a chunk of crud in the carburetor. Pulling it apart and blowing it out is a good first step. If that doesn't help then a complete disassembly with a soak in carb cleaner is in order. Be sure to check your fuel filter and check t...

Re: warford 2023 counter gear cluster

You may try searching for an "additive" to put in the oil to 'lessen' the noise. Something like a " 3M micro spheres". Something that will cushion the gears..

Re: warford shift pattern and shifting while moving

it seems truck like to go about 45 on level in what i think is OD. not much power beyond that. in the past before warford 35 was about max. in fourth. how i would get up to 55 unless down a hill.

Sounds like your running out of HP.. Do you know what RPM your turning??

Re: Chronology of the 3 and 4 speed and under drive.

That is correct about driving a stake in the ground. My Dec. 28, has low speed worm with the 3 speed. And that is really slow.. But the good thing is that at a good idle speed in low and 2nd gear, it is perfect parade speed!! ( only silver lining in a low speed worm).

Re: PTO shims and shaft speed

counting the teeth is the sure way to know the gear ratio. Go with that. Shim so that the teeth just have clearance. Plastigage will do the trick.

AA serial #

I have a 28 AA and I am a bit confused on SN identification. Are all AA frame serial #s marked with a AA? Mine dates to Dec. 28. But dose not have The AA. May be a star instead? Any clarification would be appreciated..

No Hammer involved but a good emergency fix for a farmer wife might be a broken fan belt. Truck over heats and stalls out. She cools it down with a bucket from the well and sacrifices her best nylons to fashion a makeshift Fan belt. (It does work for a while)
Fish net???

Re: Underdrive question-no don't want to run it backwards

Or !! Switch to the low speed worm drive rear end. 7:25 to 1, and then add a Utillity TT over under drive at the rear end. The standard under drive for an AA is the way to go. I have a three speed, with under drive and low speed worm. Parade walking speed is , 2nd gear, in under drive and medium idl...

Re: Emergency Resuscitation Of A Dead Engine

Electrical issues are there. A simple short or open circuit will stop one. Distributor rotor some how popping off. The top of the distributor is held on with two clips. If they would pop lose, the cover could lift up and the rotor jump off. This may happen because of the use of the hammer. then to f...
