the bad wheels on rear are about 3/4 inch out of round. i put a cement block near wheel with screwdriver almost touching wheel. spin it and see at the most the tip of driver is 3/4 inch away. they are steel wheels with holes. the front wheels maybe 1/4 inch out of round. a simple but infallible meas...

i bet you are right. bumps, potholes, 100 years of stress. maybe i am lucky. my wheels are out of round bent, but not sure if this would cause wear. all out of round some, put worst on rear. i wonder if i dismounted and took to a machine shop if they could be pressed into true or if they have a memo...

Kim VO said she has used the vendor 600w for 5 years with not issues to the bronze. i will contact doug and tell him our experiences. sounds like a good safe economical safe solution. thank you kim.

this is what doug from snyders said. he said they use it in model Ts that have bronze gears. thank you for info. like to be cautious but also hate to waste money.

i know the thrust gets hit with oil because it leaks out off the cover. i will have to make a cork gasket. has anyone run the 600w oil from snyders in bronze gears with no problem. i am using lupriplate but think it might be overkill and 2x the money.

i have been using the lupriplate oil for years. yellow gear safe. i spoke to doug at snyders last year i think and he said the 600w oil they sell is fine for bronze gears. he said model Ts had bronze gears. what is the real answer. i saw article in AA mag. but wonder if perhaps the lupriplate is ove...
