i was trying from direct to over and it moves but grinds, i didn't want to force it. should i have transmission in neutral? should i put warford in neutral first and let clutch out with both trans and warford in neutral for a second? i hope i am not confusing. please describe based on this how you d...

no one offered any ideas? hope this catches attention. to go from direct to overdrive what is the method. transmission neutral, warford neutral, clutch let out? maybe only neutral for warford, maybe only neutral for transmission? what is the correct way. i know how to split shift a 2 speed rearend, ...

had a good rebuilt carb in cabinet. bolted on, like a new truck, i will soak the spare to have another spare. i think maybe an inline fuel filter. i have just the old sediment bowl in use although cleaned with new screen. most likely not as fine holes as an in line. thank you, kevin

any ideas why my AA would suddenly need the main jet knob turned out 3 turns to run well. points are good, it also works if choke is pulled 1/3 closed. i know it might be 25 degrees but i never had this before. i guess it could be a speck of dirt in carb? bad condensor. seems like fuel deliver? any ...

how do you shift a warford while moving?

3 gear in direct drive, to shift to warford OD how so?? i tried double clutch, tried reeving engine up and then shifting? does not want to shift. any veteran warford on the fly shifters????

middle gear in view bottom of photo shows rounding on shoulders. this is how mine was. bud valerius said even new warfords had quite a howl to them. he compared a NOS one to one in good condition and he said they sounded the same. so... will have to wait and see what yours sounds like. thank you, ke...

does anyone have a photo of this in pristine condition? i would like a reference to the one i installed that had slightly rounded outer shoulders. it sure is noisy in OD. a veteran club member said this was always the case with warfords. i just want to know if i were to find a perfect gear set maybe...

did you rebuild your warford. i replaced every bearing, counter shaft gears had some rounding on shoulders. do you know of a source for used or new counter shaft gear cluster? or anyone else?

how quiet is your warford? my truck is very noisy in OD. the countershaft had some wear on gears but not bad. direct is quiet, any ideas? hope all is well. kevin

according to neil's illustration down is OD and back is direct. OD sure is loud compared to direct. my gears were good, not perfect.

warford shift pattern and shifting while moving

i put a warford in my 28 AA. what is the shift pattern. it seems closest to steering wheel down is underdrive, moving to center of truck down is direct and up is overdrive. of course direct will accelerate quicker. is it really just 4th that you would move in overdrive, or put in overdrive on level ...
