Re: 89-A Express Wheel Carrier

The MS Visio program allows files to be saved as .dwg (autoCAD drawing) and .dxf (autoCAD interchange). You can recheck with the "cad guy" regarding these possible file formats. If either can be used, then I can put together a file containing the carrier drawing (with or without the dimen...

Re: Spare tire mount

Ok checked with the shop. Drat I should have written this down, the cad guy they have is old so he can't use a vsd. I think he said he needed a dwf.

I really should have written that down. But its do-able. Couldn't shake a quote out of them till they have something to look at.

Spare tire mount

Hey guys. This started on the Buy and Sell forum and its gotten quite interesting. I'm starting it here as I would like to continue to explore this issue. Joseki, I assume that when you indicate "finish the drawing" that you mean to add in more dimensions? The MS Visio drawing program is o...

Re: !928 AA Express spare wheel carrier needed

Hey Neil, Cool drawings by the way. If you think you can finish them I can get a quote. I use a machine shop called Jemelco Inc. based in Tempe AZ. They are a small shop so they like custom work and they have done quality work for me in the past. I don't have a part to take in so they couldn't finis...

Re: !928 AA Express spare wheel carrier needed

There are drawings of this body mounted carrier (both design 1 and 2) at http://aafords.com/aa-chassis/aa-1400-wheel-carriers/#wcsf. There are some dimensions on these two drawings. The design 2 included a support strap and that is basically the only difference between the two designs. If anyone ca...

Re: US Army truck

If the only proof you have is the tires, they were probably just used from a military vehicle as the size was close. If you look up a WWII GMC 1.5 ton truck (G506), it used 7.50 x 20 tires. The G506 was built on chassis with three wheelbases, 125 in (318 cm) extra short wheelbase (XSWB) used only o...

Re: Rear Bumper idea

Hey Mark,

Probably not the advice you want :( But if your planning on doing something a little custom, build it out of Masonite and mount it on your truck. This way you can look at it and decide if you like it then make one out of metal. If you don't it's easy to modify. Goodluck!

Re: US Army truck

Hey thanks for the response.

Appreciate the info about the truck. I doubt I have a Russian one as well.

Any idea about the tires? Are they all stamped US army?

If I can figure out how to post a pic I will do that.

US Army truck

Hey Guys, Working on a 1929. Bought it off a farm. It was rattlecan Red with a farm logo on it. The tires are stamped US Army and I was originally thinking they were surplus or something. Found green paint under the red and what I think are AK47 bullets embedded in the door. Any ideas on how I can f...
