Re: 4 speed in 1929 aa

The oldest casting date I have on all of my AA 4 Speeds is 10- -29. The first ones have the shifter cap that has two pins later ones have the threaded shifter cap. I also doubt that there really is few unmolested AA 4 Speeds still around. Most have been updated during a rebuild to the later style th...

Re: AA Transmission

They have little value unless they are in very good shape internally. I just picked up one yesterday for free but it costs me $40.00 in gas to drive to pick it up. The case is often cracked. Most of the gears are available but they are new old stock. The cluster gear is about $500.00. If it needs an...

Re: Sloppy Shifter in AA 4 Speed Transmission

When I get my trans open I'll take photos of the gears and the shifter in neutral. I'll try to measure my good one with calipers to give you an idea of what the slots and shifter ball size is on a not so worn one.

Sloppy Shifter in AA 4 Speed Transmission

I have a 1928 Roadster Pickup that was retrofitted with a AA 4 Speed Transmission many years ago. The casting date code on the case is 2-13-31. It has the shifter cap that is not threaded. It is very sloppy, worn out. I have acquired a BB 4 speed trans that is in near perfect condition with the late...
