Is your fuel valve shutting off completely?
When I first got my ccpu the tank valve let just a drop or two get by when closed but overnight it was enough to fill the carb bowl and leak onto the floor....

Re: Any model AA transmissions or overdrives?
Also in the center photo....the transmission off to the left with the clutch housing still attached looks like Model A.......but probably not AA..the transmission tower doesn't look right. But it could be an early AA three-speed....

Re: Roof Covering
I think it turned out pretty nice... My wife was a big help. My improvised tack-push tool really helped too...it is just a magnetic screwdriver that has a spacer in the end, to help the tack extend out far enough to be pushed through the fabric and into the wood. You can hold the fabric and install ...

Re: Roof Covering
Better late than never... I considered doing it that way, but chose not to. My wood top frame was not a great fit..it's been on there a long time and I suspect cobbled together from more than one donor.. If i ever fully restore this truck it will get a new top frame....a new frame would have been mu...

Re: Roof Covering
I started on mine.
Decided to put the canvas down with 3m Super 77, then the welting with tacks. The cobra fabric will be next followed by the hide-em.....

Re: Roof Covering
It appears from this picture that the corded welt goes on first........that makes more sense to me as the hide-em is not very wide so covering both the top material seam and the welting seam would be tricky....

Re: Roof Covering
Thanks for starting this thread! I am about to recover my top....I've read the above posts and understand the assembly order of the fabric. I've looked at all Marco's pictures but can't really tell the layering at the edge........ Around the edge, when you fasten the material, do you place the beade...

Re: 4 speed Transmission counter shaft question
I don't know if this is a realistic option but it's just a machined shaft with a notch in it.....maybe easily made ? But I guess it needs to be hardened..... Did you try Bert's in Denver? They have lots of original used parts.... There was a new one on ebay a few weeks ago..I think it sold for about...

Re: 4 speed Transmission counter shaft question
When I was searching for a counter shaft the only vendor that had one was Van Pelt who had a used one in stock... It is a 51-7111 on their parts list... Scroll down.. http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/trans-partsprices-truck4speed.htm I ended up replacing the 4-speed in my A pickup with a 3-speed.....

This is a picture of a 4-speed with a model A engine, pressure plate and new Model A clutch works fine..
Maybe your 4-speed is not an AA four speed?
Is there a casting date on the case?

Re: aa QUESTION
You need to use the shorter AA throw-out bearing carrier and the AA bellhousing.
