Re: Truck progress photos
Hi All, I didn't realize it was so long since I posted some progress photos of my '29 work truck but as promised in the other thread, here are some pics of the finished truck. It is now licensed and has almost 20 miles on it and has freed up a lot. It now starts as soon as I just touch the starter a...

Re: Floating motor mounts
Yes it does. I did not have any alignment issues that I can remember although all that was installed about 3 years ago.

Re: Floating motor mounts
Yes, my truck is now complete and everything seems to fit Ok, I think the rear of my engine is about an inch lower but the Warford just slopes towards that so he universal is not straight - same where the warford connects to the drive shaft. Reminds me, I need to post some pics of my truck now that ...

Re: Floating motor mounts
I used the Float-a-motor mounts in my truck and everything fitted in without any modification. I think this could be that I have a Warford auxiliary gearbox in as well, so if the engine was sitting at a different height, the difference was taken up by the clamshell connection to the auxiliary. I can...

Re: 88-A Platform Style-d3, Cross Member #5, V-Bracket
I just made my own using an eye bolt I got from McMaster-Carr. Welded the stop on it and turned it down, rusted it and it was good to go!

Re: Power Take Off
Its a 4 speed with Warford - some additional info is on the thread " Truck Progress Photos" which incidentally is long overdue for an update! Sorry, not sure how to put a link in here.

Re: Power Take Off
Mine is connected via a driveshaft to a winch on the front of my truck.

Re: Finding reverse gear and floppy gear shift
Just an update to my lack of reverse problem. Finally got some time back on the truck and took the top off the transmission. Everything was good in the gearbox so attention turned to the shift tower. Discovered that the reverse slider shaft would jam up and refuse to budge. Thought it may have been ...

Wanted - wheel lock ring
Hi, I am looking for a lock ring for a '29 spoked wheel although I think the rings were the same for all types? This is for my spare wheel but would like one in reasonable condition!
Let me know price including shipping to 85704.
Thanks
Jeff

Re: Finding reverse gear and floppy gear shift
Come to think of it, I just had it idling for a few minutes when I tried it. I'll give it another shot before I pull the top off!
Thanks

Re: Finding reverse gear and floppy gear shift
Thanks Kim, yes I've come to the conclusion I'll have to take the top off it and look inside. If I had a dollar for every time I've taken the floorboards off I'd be rich! It'll have to wait a couple of weeks but I'll let you know what I find.

Re: Finding reverse gear and floppy gear shift
Hi Kim, I am pretty sure it did as it shifted into all gears on the bench. Not sure what you could get wrong assembling it anyway, as the parts can really only go in one way.

Re: Finding reverse gear and floppy gear shift
I machined up some pins and fitted them this morning and they have made a huge difference. All the gear positions are a lot easier to find and the lever movement is a lot more positive. Except that I still cannot get it to mesh in reverse. I am pretty sure I have the latch engaging OK and the gear i...
