Re: Looking for late '31 engine crank (without lug socket on end)
I have many cranks - not sure what you mean on lug socket - can you post picture Sorry, I wasn't clear. Meant that I have a Model A crank with the lug nut socket on the end. I'm looking for the correct AA crank for late '31 that doesn't have a lug nut socket on the end. If you have one, let me know...

Re: What is it?
Chris - I agree that it looks crude and homemade... However the paint appears to match exactly the original paint on the truck.

Re: What is it?
After searching for several hours on line for what this could be... my best guess is maybe they used it as a pry bar for the split rims or tires? Whatever it is, I'd keep it under the seat just because it's a cool find! Let us know if you ever figure it out. Mark P. Thanks Mark for sharing your sea...

Looking for late '31 engine crank (without lug socket on end)
Anyone have a crank for a late '31 they are willing to part with? I'm willing to buy or I have one with a lug socket on the end willing to trade if that is desired instead.

What is it?
Anyone know what this is? Found it in my late '31 AA truck when cleaning out the cab which was full of odds and ends thrown in there over many years. At first I thought it might not be related to the truck, but it has the same paint as the truck (what's left of the paint that is). Looks pretty crude...

Re: Happy Holidays 2021
Happy Holidays to you too! Thanks for sharing your experience. It gives me inspiration to think of how I can bless others with my truck when I get it running. I had not thought of how I could use it to support charities other than a non-profit railroad I volunteer with. What a fun and special way to...

Re: How many classes of AA trucks
I have a reprint of a book originally published in 1931 that states "The Ford Model A Truck.- Truck models in the new Ford line are rated 1 1/2 tons with single rear wheels, and 2 1/2 tons with dual rear wheels." The original book was titled 'The Ford Model A Car, Construction - Operation ...

Re: lifting cab off of frame
Thanks Chris for the great information! In order to remove my gas tank for repair, I had to dismantle much of what you describe here, so I am well on my way. I like your mirror suggestion to avoid having to completely remove the fendor and apron if possible. I'll pass on a trick I use in my daily jo...

Re: lifting cab off of frame
I too am very interested in any tips, techniques, and hints anyone can give on accessing the frame numbers. My '31 will likely not get anything close to a frame off restoration while I own it. One might say my goal is to repair it, more than restore it, at the moment leaving it as much as possible, ...
