Re: Engine front support question

The parts book show the nut had a Japan black finish. I think the front mount was
installed in the chassis before the engine so it may have been painted with the frame.

Re: connecting shaft/Speedometer drive gear

I think if you need to shim the engine up 1-1 1/2" you have a major problem someplace, sagging frame maybe.

Re: Engine front support question

The top one is aftermarket and they had rubber inside the springs. You have to check the springs on the new kit as some of the springs are to long. I think Bert's sells a kit with the correct springs. Marco has the prints for the springs on his site. https://web.archive.org/web/20140609222939/http:/...

I have never seen a front cross member like that on a '30/'31.
That was used on the 157" tapered frame AA.

Re: Bushing Fit Question

I would use Loctite 609 bearing mount, suppose to fill gap up to .010".

Re: connecting shaft/Speedometer drive gear

BB bearing and sleeve wont work as the BB driveshaft is larger diameter than the AA.

Re: connecting shaft/Speedometer drive gear

The ones on Ebay are for cars, they have the wrong prefix for the part number.
