The number on the frame was the number on the original engine that was installed
in the truck when it left the factory. So the engine in your truck is a replacement.

The engine is April 1929 and your truck is August 1930.

Ford shows a drawing date of May 7,1930 for the long wheel base frame and the Chicago Service Letter of
June13, 1930 mention the long wheel base frame.

Here's a long wheel base taper frame.

"The 1930 didn't have a rigid front mount either."

The long wheel base tapered frame had a solid front engine mount until December 1930.

There are three screws each side at the top of the windshield frame. One comes through the front and two at the side.
After removing the screws the top of the frame comes up and off and the glass can be removed out the top of the frame. The bottom and side
of the frame are one piece.

What's wrong with the old one?

Even the late 1931 had metal bracing running from side to side and wood across the back.

And the 1930-31 AA front is the same as 1928-31 A rear.

I measured some originals with digital calipers and got 2.812 (2 13/16) and 1.905 (1 29/32) so really close.
