Re: 29 four speed

Interesting, I don't think I have ever seen a bearing retainer like that. The u-joint is the one in the picture above
for the service replacement coupling shaft.

Mac's doesn't have a clue. "A" Springs has the one you need. http://www.a-springs.com/4b.html

Re: 29 four speed

If the u-joint looks like the one in the picture the transmission came out of a 1930-31 truck with a service replacement coupling shaft.
Can you post a picture of what you have?

Re: Pinstripe

The Paint & Finish Guide shows that is the only stripe color for gunmetal blue.

Re: Installing a 30-31 hood and radiator shell on a 28

Ford used the 82-A cab (1928-29 style) until June 1930. You have the heavy front axle with the big brakes, dual wheels and
probably a bevel gear rear axle and 4-speed transmission.

That's a early 1930 truck. I like the shell, is it steel or fiberglass?

Are you asking about the bolts that hold the carrier together?

Re: HOW DO YOU SHIFT A WARFORD ON THE FLY?

In your other post you just said it doesn't want to shift, does that mean it won't come out of direct or it grinds
going from neutral to over?

The AA pedals mount to the transmission case not the bell housing .

"Plus the '39 doesn't have the pedal mounts." And the T98 does?

Re: Syncro 4 speed

I was just trying to show you the open drive line. If you want syncros and the Warford why not go with a 1939 3-speed trans?
The first picture is an S-10 5-speed and a 2-speed Watson in my long wheel base AA.

Re: Syncro 4 speed

Go to an open drive. Most of them I have seen were in dump trucks.
