Re: Assembly order?

Assembly order?
Hi folks, just getting ready to bolt stuff back together on my truck and am trying to figure out what goes on first, does the three speed warford bolt up to the frame then engine/transmission goes in, or can I drop in the engine/transmission then attach the warford after, I'm just not sure if there'...

Re: Spicer Axel Components
Hi Bob, I've decided to cheat this, I picked up a couple cv boots and am going to use them over the slip joint and remove the springs and smaller slip cover with hopes of finding a good set somewhere in the future. With the driveshaft being bolted it's only a few minutes and I can remove it and repl...

Re: Spicer Axel Components
Best I can tell from the parts book the big bell is a Inner Casing Assembly AAC 100008 R and the other part is an Outer Casing Assembly (slip joint) AAC 100009 AR. There is also a Casing Spring (slip joint) AAC 100012 AR. Thanks for the part numbers, I imagine these will be a "make my own"...

Canadian Timken Diff and Brake parts
I have a couple Timken diffs in pieces, if you're looking for a part, just pm and ask or make an offer on the lot. One ring gear and pinion is destroyed, the second is useable but wore, no salvageable rims but I do have enough ash blanks to make up a wooden wheel hub and know of a good wheel wright....

Just more assembly pics, Pinion assembly, notice the lip on the input shaft side, it receives a cork seal that seals the cover with the pinion shaft seal to the housing. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180321/d999fd62e13d6914e582b325763cceff.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180321/f65f1a340...

Re: Canadian Timken differential
Truck update, I removed the rear suspension pivots and took them to a welding shop and had them and the bolts built up, as well as new bushings installed. Got the rivets I needed and finally managed to find time to get it all back together https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180321/66d7db8daa2d88615c...

Re: Front spring clip question
Quick question about the front spring clips, I don’t have any on my truck and am going to make a couple. FYI - Clip or Clamp???? Attached photo shows what the spring clips are. I am guessing you are referring to spring clamps. I’m after the light duty clips that stop the spring from rotating, I’ve ...

Front spring clip question
I’m rebuilding the front end on my AA while I wait for the last couple bits to come for the diff. Quick question about the front spring clips, I don’t have any on my truck and am going to make a couple. What width and thickness of steel are they, and how “tight” are they to the front axel, I’m guess...

Re: Looking for some advice on AA trucks
I haven’t played /drove an AA.... yet , but the 40’s 50’s Early 60’s trucks over 1 ton all had similar road speeds, more or less maxed out at 55mph. Only nice thing with the newer trucks is I believe you can swap differentials and transmissions to achieve more comfortable highway speeds, but IMO the...
