Good choice, yea at that slow of speeds and short distance i wouldn't have worried. Good idea to check though.

whoops I wasnt clear - I meant the shaft diameter off the gearbox itself that the handle clamps to - not the handle diameters :) i dont have a warford myself so nothing to measure here but it looks familiar...

whats the shaft diameter and keyway diameter? looks familiar like the levers on a modern tow truck winch....

yea id clean it up and see how much gap there is. The parts shouldnt be hard to find. Ill look when i get a chance - i have 2 of those parts i wont use but unsure how worn they are. Thats about the only way those parts wear out.

he means the spring pack just barely pivots - amazing how much that small pivoting can wear that shaft out.

i scared up some grade 8's and nylock nuts at tractor supply - had to search 2 of them because they had a shoulder that was a hair longer and perfect length for where it needed to be. I ended up finding good ford ones so these are just hangin around. ive got plenty of bent or worn out ones if someon...

yea - you might have a hens tooths chance of finding one or a set at a swapmeet on the dollar tarp cuz they dont know what they are to - Ive gotten several 29 centercaps that way. I always keep my eyes out for em. You should be able to come up with SOMETHING that fits... Can anyone get me an opening...

embossed ford was only on the very early 28s

the front of the bed should have 2 maybe 3 thin stake pockets where flat sock would slip there are normal square stake pockets along the edge and the back.
