Trade 6.50-20 for 600-20
Does anyone happen to have a good 600-20 that they would be willing to trade for a 6.50-20. I'll send details if anyone is interested.

Re: AA tow truck on Craigslist
Just curious what you think of the price? The AA market is hard to grasp, supply and demand is low.

Thanks that link is helpful. The steering arm nut is 1 1/8, I ended up putting them down to 125 ft/lbs.

Re: New AA Front Springs for sale
He might have the blueprints for 28/29 springs but i'm not sure and it sounded like he only has the 2.25 inch spring but it would be worth asking. If you get stuck I think Eaton told me they have the blueprint for 28/29 springs and they could make one ($~300 sounds familiar). Is the 28/29 spring tha...

New AA Front Springs for sale
Travis at www.a-springs.com now has new 30/31 AA springs for sale. 14 leaf, 2.25 inches wide. I think they include clamps and bushings. They're not cheap at about ~$400.00 but its nice to have the option to have a new spring if you're doubting a junkyard find. I did not buy a spring but Travis is a ...

Re: Front End Rebuild
Just wondering what you guys recommend for for steering arm nut torque? I was thinking 120 ft/lbs and then a little more to get the cotter pin to line up.
Thanks for any help.
Chris

Re: Front End Rebuild
I'm putting my front end back together and I would like to get some opinions on this 31AA front spring shackle/perch, do you think there is too much play here? The spring and perch measure closer to 2 3/16 and the shackle measures closer to 2 5/16 leaving an 1/8 of play. The shackle is a Rear 'A' sp...

WTB: 30-31 Spring Perch
Does anyone have a late spring perch to spare? I can't get a new bushing into one of my perches without rounding the bushing itself so i think the perch is too out of round.
Thanks,
Chris
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Front End Rebuild
I would remove the steering arms as there is a groove around the shank of the arm where it goes through the spindle so the grease can get from the fitting to the king pin bushing. If the grease has gotten hard you may have a hard time greasing the king pins. Sounds like a good idea. it will be easi...

I need some help with the spring perch nut, I messed one up trying to get the perches out. Are they the same as the "A" or different?

Re: Front End Rebuild
Thanks for all of the above help, its much appreciated. I picked up some good Kingpins on Fordbarn. I'm currently cleaning up my front spindles. Is there any reason to attempt to remove the steering arms or should i just leave them bolted on and replace the cotter pins? The balls on the arms look to...

Re: Front End Rebuild
It will be helpful for you to get a Ford Parts Price List booklet to determine which parts on an AA chassis are A chassis parts. Some information about these booklets is at http://aafords.com/aa-information/#fppl. The Dec. 20, 1932 booklet is available at most vendors. I am sure someone will respon...
