Re: Early left location E-Brake boot

Here's a photo of the original LH hand brake boot from the RG&JS, page A-13.

Looks to me like 14-3/16" center-to-center.

Schrader 725 valve stems

If anyone has any Schrader model 725 valve stems, I'm interested. They are very similar to the 1822 stem for the AA truck, only longer, about 3-7/8" in length. The main body diameter is 15/32-26 thread, same as the 1822. Please see the attached photo.

Thank you for looking!

Re: 28-29 AA speedometer cable grommets

Success! I modified the McMaster-Carr grommet mentioned above and have attached pictures of the results. I didn't try it with a speedo cable, but when installed, the internal diameter of the grommet reduces to about 3/4". Since the early cable is about 7/16" diameter I'm optimistic that it will asse...

Re: 28-29 AA speedometer cable grommets

I also need a speedo grommet for my early '28 truck frame and am considering part number 9600K219 from McMaster-Carr. Take a look, it is for 3/16 thick material (good) but for a 1-3/8" diameter hole. My frame crossmember hole is 1-1/8" diameter. So I'm thinking that since you have to split the gromm...

Re: Paint colors

The new updated paint color booklet (4th Edition) is now available through MAFCA and it includes Commercial Grey!

I just received mine. The color swatches are also much larger for paint shops to reproduce.

Re: Paint colors

As it turns out, MAFCA is in the finishing stages of publishing an updated paint color booklet. They are working on including the commercial grey color in the new edition. Not sure how soon it might be available but it sounds promising.

Early mirror disassembly

I have an early A-17727 mirror assembly Design 1 as shown in the pictures below. It has the mirror retainer frame that is pressed inside of the mirror retainer case. I want to restore it, but I'm not sure how best to disassemble the retainer frame without damaging the frame or the case. Is it best t...

Re: Wanted: AA tire valve stems

Thank you for the reply, calc. I actually have plenty of the rim nuts and dust caps. It's the stems that have proven to be the most challenging.

Thanks again,
Brian

What fastens inside of door header?

My early '28 closed cab doors have 3 locations for fasteners which are located where the top of the window would contact when closed. It would seem that maybe they would be for an upper window channel, but I don't have any original parts for this area and all I have found from the parts suppliers is...

Wanted: AA tire valve stems

I am in need of 5 Schrader #1822 valve stems for my AA truck restoration. They are 2-1/2 inches overall length. The Schrader stems are shown in the center of the attached photo. (I could also use Dill VS-1 stems, which look very similar.) Also the 5607 bridge washers and 725 hex nut. Thank you for c...
