Re: Front leaf spring

I just had my front leaf spring repaired by a local truck spring shop, I had to order rear shackles kit for a Model A car to replace my worn out shackles

Re: How many classes of AA trucks

I have heard a lot of stories like that, and seen pics of some pretty heavy payloads on these trucks

Re: How many classes of AA trucks

It only makes sense that the dual wheels would increase payload, as I have seen video of them loading these trucks pretty heavy back in the day on road construction and dam building projects. Would be nice to know for sure, so I can license mine accordingly. Not that I would haul that much anyway, but

Re: Relocated fuel tank

I believe you quoted the wrong comment. The comment you quoted (which was mine) makes no mention of butchering or anything being irreversible. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk I stand corrected on the miss quote, but I do care what people think of me and my truck, that is the only reason I had ...

Re: Relocated fuel tank

Ahhh geez not the old "it's your truck do what you want" or the "who cares what others think" logic. No one is disputing his right to do whatever it is he would like to do to his own truck. Take it off the frame and put it on an S10 frame. It's your prerogative. Who cares what others think? Well, a...

Re: Relocated fuel tank

Who cares what others say....it is YOUR truck and as I see it, it is better that it is out being driven and enjoyed instead of rusting away in a field or sitting in a storage shed. Thank you, that's how I feel. I love these old trucks and think what a shame that they are not out on the roads for pe...

Re: Relocated fuel tank

Good idea about the overflow tank. That's interesting about the oil. Where will it be dripping into? The oil canister has an adjustable vacuum injection system that is plumbed into the intake manifold. The mixture ratio is adjusted by a knob up at the jar. There are a lot of guys that tour their mo...

28ED26D5-8898-4B08-9594-B22A166EC3D9.JPG What is the glass jar and the large black pipe on the other side of the radiator hose for? That jar thing is an oiler, I was introduced to that by an old time model A guy that drove his car as a daily driver. This keeps the upper end of the engine oiled. It ...

Re: Relocated fuel tank

Geez does a Model AA need that many wires? I think you should have done this truck a service and just bought a 70s model Ford instead. I think your discussion would probably be more welcomed on The H.A.M.B. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk List of what the wires are for?? Tac, Amp, temp. gage,,...

Re: Relocated fuel tank

It is sad that a gas tank that has survived for 80 years has been destroyed. I agree, however, I also owned a 28 Model A pickup that always had the smell of raw gas in the cab , it was restored and bone stock , loved it but could not have driven as much as I plan to this one! This truck will be use...

Re: Dismantling doors

Before getting on the screws too hard, Eastwood now makes a tool they call a "Screw Buster" SKU 32037. It makes it possible to impact the screws out sometimes without damage so that many of the screws can even be reused. Even with this, WD-40 is the first step as it helps minimize damage to the scr...

what kind of fuel pump?
I originally bought a fuel pump from Mac's to go with the Webber downdraft carb setup, I'm going to see if that will work
