Re: Installing a 30-31 hood and radiator shell on a 28

You can put it on. But the hood will be inches away from meeting the body. I remember seeing a model A like that on the street when I was a kid.

Re: 28 express bed for sale

You said you already repaired one in this condition. I am sure it would be a lot easier to sell if it was repaired. I know I have one like it that is beyond my ability to repair.

Re: Spring Start-Up - What to look for?

Sometimes you will find a lube fitting on top of the through bolt that holds the springs together. This was not original but I have seen some. Ford dealers had a C Clamp type of tool that would spread the leaves enough to get some grease between the leaves.

Re: Canadian Timken differential

Since they had an open driveshaft how were they connected to the frame? just the leaf springs like modern trucks? I see a pretty stout bar that has been torched off in your pic... I am pretty sure it connects the same way any other AA diff did, two 1” pins through the back of each leaf spring to th...

Re: Rod knockin'

It may not be a rod bearing. My engine is still running smooth at idle and low speed. When I accelerate to mid range or higher it has a ferocious hard rattle.

Rod knockin'

I have developed a rod knock. Time to pull the pan and see whats happening. Hopefully the crank isn't damaged. That would open a big can of worms. I guess that answered my question whether my engine had poured or inserted bearings.

Re: hello

Mr Bill. Did you know that all your Body Parts, Engine, Transmission, ETC. will bolt on to a 1929 AA chassis? A rolling chassis isn't hard to find. Just sayin'. :D

Re: Hello

Just got home, engine is stamped. *AA532 622* that should be october 1928 if my chart is right. Frame data plate is missing or if frame is stamped I do not see it. You can't see the frame number until the body and splash apron on the drivers side are removed. Not one of Henry's better ideas. Octobe...

Re: Hello

Wire wheels are 1928. I doubt it is a four speed unless it was installed after leaving the factory. Your reverse should be to the left and up. A Mitchell Gear Splitter will give you a good overdrive for more speed.
