Re: Grease Baffle on front

I got one from Obsolete Auto parts OEM A 2060 page 34 and it matched the drinkers side. Wider to catch more grease.

Re: Grease Baffle on front

The top is the driver side and the bottom is the drinkers side. The drinkers side has never been replaced but the drivers side was and maybe they quit after that one.

Re: Grease Baffle on front

The difference from the drinkers side to the driver side is like comparing a nickel to a dime. The service letter dated April 10th 1929 states in part, On all AA trucks built previously to November 1,1928, such trucks were equipped with the same type front spindles and bearings as used on the Model ...

Re: Grease Baffle on front

On page 1-210 of the mec handbook red book shows the diagram. Notice bolts go inside of grease baffle. On the driver side mine has the bafflefliped over and bolts through with bolt heads on top. I will try to post a pic but my laptop has exceeded it's battery life so I am on a tablet. I will try to ...

Grease Baffle on front

Are the grease baffles supposed to match each other?
The drinkers side is One inch wide and driver side is 1/2 inch and looks to be on backwards (the bolt head side) facing outside and grease everywhere. It appears to not cover the inside bearings enough.
This is an early 1928.

Re: mystery part

Is it the bolt in the front you stick into the front to set the timing?

Re: Wood for top of cab

Thanks for the reply. The wood in my truck seems to be a softer wood and I wonder if the rough lumber I had left over would work (Hard Maple). I have most of the frame and only missing one slat I call it from the front to the rear but some rot and decay. I was concerned about beating in the tacks fo...
