Hello!
Since the bracket arm will be 10+ inches, I'm afraid the hinge mount version will be too weak and flexy, so I think it will be better to install the bracket on the hinge pillar instead and have a sturdy tapping block inside the pillar

Re: REAR VIEW MIRRORS
Aren't the original brackets cast iron? Simple enough to make a mold or pattern and cast them. All it takes is an original to copy and a bit of ambition. That's what I had in mind and asked "Is someone in a position to 3D scan a 10-3/8" bracket?" The ambition is always there but no b...

Re: REAR VIEW MIRRORS
I think it would be an easy thing to make a mirror bracket like AA-17697-B. Machine a tapered rod and weld on the fittings in each end and this bracket will fit the 6x10 mirror I suggested.

Re: REAR VIEW MIRRORS
I found this mirror locally. It's 6x10 and adjustable in any direction.

The big knob can be replaced with a bolt.
Are the Ford mirror brackets being reproduced?

Re: REAR VIEW MIRRORS
I've looked at the original mirrors that were available, but they are too small and I think that's a safety issue. I drive my truck frequently and would feel much more secure on the road being able to see the cars around. In addition, I can't turn my head like I could when I was young :? I think I w...

REAR VIEW MIRRORS
I'm trying to find some time typical outside rear view mirrors for my 1930 AA Truck.
I want them large enough so I can focus on surrounding traffic and when reversing.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Re: POWER STEERING
Wow, what a fabulous response from all of you :) My AA is fully restored and the steering box and all suspension and steering components are rebuilt. When I jack it up, I can turn (not rotate)(yes that too) the front wheels easily and the steering wheel spins. It's definitely lubricated, so there a...

Re: POWER STEERING
Interesting Ron,
Have you done this conversion or seen it being made? Do you have some pictures? I guess the steering box have to be turned 90 deg. so the pitman shaft will point sideways.
You suggest a '73 Chevy PS unit, but are they not about the same way up into the 90's?
Chris

POWER STEERING
Hello, I use my AA as a daily driver and would like to add power steering, especially when in town parking in tight spots. I'm looking for a steering box that will fit reasonably well in the STD location. I have done a search of the forum, but could not find anything. Any information or input would ...
