Re: Lightened Fly wheel and Clutch problems
Thanks Bud I checked and the shaft is ok. I mounted an old flywheel to the engine with pressure plate and clutch and an old transmission. The clutch released ok then I mounted my fly wheel same pressure place and clutch and transmission and same settings. The clutch would not release. I don't think ...

Re: Lightened Fly wheel and Clutch problems
Thanks E. Moore I checked and I am getting plenty of movement of the throw out bearing. I measured the fly wheel from the shoulder to the surface on mine and it is 1.090 and and the measurement on an old one is 1.325. I am sure the old one is worn somewhat but I need to confirm the resurfacing measu...

AA Clutch Adjustment Problems
I just had to install a better engine in my 1930 AA. I made sure the fingers on the pressure plate were set at .625 per the manual. Now I don't have enough clutch pedal travel to release the clutch. I have made adjustments to the point I have about 1/2 inch clutch travel before engaging the throw ou...

Back fires under a load on the engine
Today must be carb day!!
When I drive my AA and go up a hill I get a very sharp backfire just as I down shift. Timing is on, float seems to be ok. When driving on level ground it runs fine no backfires. Any body got any hints.

Re: BBQ Brake drum.
I had a similar problem with my AA. I found an old blacksmith shop and he had all the stuff needed to get things loose. Suggest you check out a railroad workshop or see if there is a blacksmith locally that has been around for many many years. This guy had a railroad wheel puller and another tool th...

Clutch Pressure Plate Faillure
I was just putting on a pressure plate and as I got it aligned about half of one of the heavy springs fell out. Kinda of ruined my day. Has anybody got any experience as to why one of these springs breaks. Do I need to do something to prevent it happening again??
