Re: Hidden disk breaks?

OK ! I'm reading between the lines here. I Need to redo the stock breaks. Mine do not lock up. Lucky I can't go very fast. So when they say "Re Arching the pads" just how is that done? Do you sand down the break lining to the the correct radius, or bend the steel under it to the correct s...

Re: Hidden disk BRAKES?

Has anyone considered trying to put disk brakes inside of a drum brake? If the disk was fastened to the drum inner face on its outer edge and the calipers was mounted to run on the inside of the disk "hole in the center". It would be a packaging problem, but there are some very small cali...

Re: Help identifying fenders

I purchased a 29 Model A pickup that had rear fenders that did not belong on the pickup. Someone told me they may belong to an AA. The fenders look like the Model A pickup fenders but the rear fender brace goes through a hole in the fender, they do no have the indention for the running board splash...

Re: Is it worth something

Hello AA world. I have acquired my first prewar truck. The former owner is the son of the original owner. He thought it was a 29 or 30. I am going to describe it the best I can. It is a closed cab, 4 cyl, 4 speed, dual tires on bud wheels, flatbed. There is a wood frame in the roof. The truck is ro...

Re: Trany accesory?

A look at the production line in early 1928 the body was dropped onto the frame with the brake handle in place and would have to be slipped through the small slot in the body sill. When they changed the braking system in front of the shift made dropping the cab easier. The "front of the shift&...

Yes, you would need the set of worm and worm drive gears that you prefer.
Do you know what ratio you have now?

Re: Synthetic oil

I agree with Keith: for years I have been using 15w-40 in all my tractors and old cars & trucks. I buy it in 5 gallon buckets. The tractors I change every 100 engine-hours. Old cars & trucks when it looks dirty. As Keith said: don't put detergent oil in an engine unless it has been thorough...

Re: Just minding my own business then................

Well, I got it apart and found some pieces. I read where I was supposed to install the clutch with the shorter flange on the clutch toward the flywheel. Well I honestly don't remember considering that on the install. Is that why it failed? Or do they just fail from time to time? clutch.jpg Look for...
