Bob another issue that happens with Model A/ AA is that the cap on the tank gets blocked around the edge were the breathers are it may allow the truck to start and the the flow of fuel will stop or slow. just another suggestion the guys on this site are very knowledgeable so keep posting if you have...

as far as i am aware the only major difference is that the AA box has the pivot shaft coming out of the side for the pedals to mount on

brake drum removal

Dave before you cut it could you drill a hole in the face and put on a hydraulic puller like we use on the timken diffs
it may save you a drum

have you tried making a puller similar to the one i showed in the article (AA TRUCK)
i am certain that it could be adapted to the US diff assembly for removal

AA Spring perch bolts

Does anyone know where i can get a pair of 28-29 AA spring perch bolts
i am also looking for a pair of Diff Clamps for a Timken Differential
the clamps for a timken diff have a 4 3/16" bore not 3 3/16" like the US diffs

my method works really well
i have since disasembled two other diffs

i have included a pic of the internals of our brakes
two shoes for breaks and two for parking brakes

this is the way we remove drums downunder

On Australian AA trucks we have Timken Diffs on the drum of the timken diff there are two holes in which you can insert 1/2" threaded rod and use a puller to remove the drum the puller of choice that i use is a Hydraulic puller made by Sykes Pickavant once you have the puller installed we load ...

in Australia it became very apparent to us that most of our car and truck frames are un stamped after mid 28. the few car that are stamped are very early in the production run of model a's. when the factory was set up for full production they imported the chassis rails and cross member dissasembled ...
