Re: question
Ed, Neil, Thanks for the expertize on this situation. I can live with shaft remaining in the frame untill I remove the rear end, While were on this subject, when I pulled the engine I separated it from the transmission and removed the engine, which left the transmission hanging on the brake rods and...

question
1931 AA 157wb I removed the engine and the transmission. I am curious as to how the short shaft separates from the rear swivel/ball joint. I want to keep the wheels on the frame for the time being so I can roll it around, do I have to leave it on untill I remove the rear end? Thanks for any info, Te...

Re: Front wheel/hub assembly
Barney' This is probably not your answer. I'm sure the baffle locates with the sleeves outward and I am wondering if you missed putting some kind of spacer on the opp. side of the backing plate which would move the backing plate out a tad and allow the smaller ID hole of the baffle to fit over the t...

Re: sad jackshaft tube
Yeah I see how that tube works now. Mine has so much gunk on it and I never took a good look before. Like Brian said it does look easy to fab a new one. wouldn't want to have to make that hemisphere that it goes into though.

Re: sad jackshaft tube
Russ, I haven't got that deep into my truck to get that part in my hand and I'm curious as to what function that raised coller behind the bowl type flange is for. That tube looks repairable with a couple of small patches and maybe cut the end off that is screwed up and add a short piece. Don't know ...

I was looking at a truck on ebay and it had the same thing so I guess it's supposed to be there.

Door Question
I'M going through my doors and have found the insides of the outer skins have a tar like substance slathered on the lower portion. I guess it's to help keep the tinny sound down and make the door more solid. Dunno! Is this a normal situation or?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Ford truck restoration
Keith,
Yeah, the rear traction bars/ radius rods are not Ford either, being on the outside of the springs like they are, but, that baby has a lot of Ford look to it and some real Outback ingenuity went into it. Hope to see it again.

Looks good! Reminds me of an oversize magneto puller for a motorcycle except for internal threads instead of external

Re: Ford truck restoration
Whoa, Keith, Dude! I love the truck and the "get in shut up and hang on sign", most appropriate. Before you do anything, ship that Harley that I see in the background out here to California so you have room to work on the truck. I knew something was funny about that truck, somebody put the...

Re: advise
Thanks Brady for the Tudor info. And Shelby, I did find the center screw hidden under paint. I removed the Regulators and the windows. One window has a full length crack that was held together with a short channel on top. Both Regulators need kits as they both had shafts that were broken at the roll...
