Re: What are these shims for?

Shelby, I have to respectively disagree with you, I don't believe a fiber washer would maintain the load that the hub and axle support, they would most likely crush after torqueing the axle nut. I sent these back and discussed this with Snyders, they were clueless on this subject, this part # A-4244...

Re: been a while

Hello Harry, Yes It as been a while, nice to see you are both out and about, we have done a lot of road work with Maggie this year with our club, the Palomar As, with short tours of 50 to 100 miles --- back roads and surface streets, trailer is feeling lonely we only used it twice last year. This pr...

Re: 4 sale Spring perches, Shackles, King pin bolts

The 28-29 AA came with front shocks, most were not replaced but occasionally you will see some still attached, they will not work on the 30-31 with the wider spring, the shock ball sits higher due to increase in truck height, here is a pic from Neil Wilson showing the difference.

4 sale Spring perches, Shackles, King pin bolts

I am currently replacing my front axle due to a badly worn king pin hole on the right side and alignment problems on the left, with one that I have rebuilt with replacement spindles, new pins and bushings, correct spring perches, and steering arms. At sometime in her life she had taken a good whack ...

Re: Backwards dual hi

I have heard that it as been done, but have not seen anything explaining how it was done, the Hi-Low unit cannot be installed switching end for end that I can see as the large end would not clear the brake cross shaft, looking at the internals it doesn't seem likely that they could be switched eithe...

Re: 1930 Ford AA Brake Question

I did have my steel drums turned on the rear, getting the drum centered was a challenge, and they need to be cut with small amounts of feed other wise the cutter will did in, it took most of an hour to do one of them, we also did not cut where the emergency brake shoes run, this allows for a little ...

Re: Need Help with Brake question

Hello Terry,
I am sure you have a parts price book, look at the illustrations and post the part # and cross check between the A and your 29 AA which I believe you need it for.

Re: 29 AA rear end

As Bladehorse states modern gear oil will work, but be sure it is for use with yellow metals, this will lengthen the life of the ring gear whatever is left of it, I believe 2 quarts will do it, maybe three for topping up latter.

Re: Switched rear ends on early 28.

Hello Dave, I believe there was a discussion on the Fordbarn regarding this as an upgrade on the model A and still retain the left handbrake, I am sure the AA would be included, I believe they discussed whether it would pass in fine point judging considering it was a safety issue, if I remember it w...
