Re: A motor & trans

Well, thank you sir... :| I am not selling the frame, axles, wheels, or steering column, so I did not mention them. I do not need this motor, as I have a fresh B motor. If anyone wants to make an offer, I welcome it. But, I'll scrap it before I will sell it for next to nothing & suffer the usual...

Re: Oils - bottom line what's your favorite?

I use Shaeffer's Supreme 9000. Been using Shaeffer's products for over 40 years, in a variety of irreplaceable objects of love. Contains molybdenum disulfide which largely prevents metal-to-metal contact much better than ZDP. They also have moly gear lubes up to 250w. No, I don't work for them ...

Re: "B" starter

Oh dear I am such a klutz expressing myself! I meant the starter motor housing. If the starter itself bolts on, but some minor machining is needed, I might be able to do that... I have a lathe & mill. just occurred to me: if the motor is a 33 or 34, is it a "C"?.... I do recall i...

"B" starter

My 31 has a 33 motor in it. The starter ran off a push-button on the dash.
My original starter went to a "rebuilder" who "lost" it.

Now, I'm looking for another, and not sure where to start.
A guy who does A starters says he can't help.

Can anybody offer some clues?

Re: Interior pannels

If you want to go fancy, you can get 2 or 3 mm aircraft plywood.
Spendy, but magnificent.

I made some for a Silver Shadow out of 5mm, they turned out yummy.

Re: Trailer and tow vehicle to transport model AA?

I've often thought of attaching a tow bar to the front axle that pivots and is connected behind the axle to the steering. The thing would heel like a well-trained dog. Of course you'd need to add brakes, but I've seen electric actuators that press the towed vehicle's pedal... You'd save the weight o...

Re: ton or ton and a half?

When I was a kid, we lived in Snohomish WA. Dad used to get a load of coal for the winter that would overflow the sideboards on our AA dump. He tells me it was 5 tons. I remember the tires (7.50s out back) rode very low, and even with a strong "B" motor it would not pull 3rd gear. I shudde...
