bed skid strip width?
I bought a TT platform bed a while back, and am just starting to look at it in preparation for modification to fit my 31 157" chassis. The bed is 80 1/8" long by 61" wide. I'm figuring I can use the the 80" strips from hornkeys or mar-k that I've seen on this forum. I need to kno...

Front spring clamps
Can I use the model A rear spring clamps on my 31 AA front spring? Snyder's PN A-5724-A I was figuring if the front spring shackles were the same as the rear A then I probably could, but was looking for confirmation. Also can I install the front spring without them and add them later, or will this b...

Re: Need all the bushings for shakles on AA Rear Springs
Hey John, I just got some rear spring shackle bushings from snyders too. Item 5791. Have you put them up to your sring eyes? The bushings are wider than the spring eyes so I think I might have to cut mine down, or am I putting them in the wrong place? Scott PS: I know what you mean about the one ste...

Re: split ring wheel retainer
After a night of electrolysis about half of the retainer is moving, gonna soak it again tonight and hopefully try and get it off tomorrow. The retainer does have some pin holes in it, you think I can still resuse it? There is also some pitting, but I expected that, I think with new flaps, tubes and ...

split ring wheel retainer
Welp it took me about 4.5 hours to get the tire off the first of my rims. I was a little tired from some yard work and it was my first one and it is the worst looking (rusted up) rim I have. Maybe the next 5 will go smoother. Can't get the split ring to budge so I'm doing some electrolysis on it ove...

Re: locating a flatbed (edit: located a flatbed)
I picked up the bed for $100. Kind of wish I would have started lower, by the time the words were out my mouth he had it halfway to my truck. It's in decent shape I guess, but is rotten through on the bottom lip of a couple crossmembers. I figure it was worth $100 just to have something to look at f...

Re: locating a flatbed (edit: located a flatbed)
just started learning how to weld and the only welder I have is a little 80 amp DC welder from Harbor frieght. did just run 220 out to my garage and got a nice 5hp air compressor though. I'm thinking that its worth a couple hundred just for something to look at for measurements and design even if I ...

It sounds like he parted out a truck a few months back and thats what he has left. I'm gonna go look at it next time I head over to that city, but have no idea what beds are going for.

Re: locating a flatbed (edit: located a flatbed)
I think I finally ran into some luck. After posting on craigslist searching for a flatbed a guy called and said he has a "ford Truck" script bed about 8 ft long. I'm pretty sure its a TT bed right? Looks similar to the AA bed I think. What kind of offer should I make/where should I start t...
