Re: HAHA part of the club now.
Scott, Could you post some pictures of the coupling shaft(the shaft that goes between the transmission and the rear end) and where it connects to the rear end. I have an open coupling shaft but I don't know what they used for a seal. Thanks Bob as requested let me know if you want any close ups htt...

HAHA part of the club now.
I ended up driving 23 hours overall to get her, but I feel like she was worth it. The chassis is in great shape, better than I thought it would be. When pushing it the end of the drive shaft came up and grabbed the rear brake lines and boy did we fall flat on our faces when the rear brakes kicked in...

Re: wanting an AA dual wheeled (157"w.b.) chassis
I think I'll love the one for 400 bucks, but its a ten hour drive from where I am, and only if it is what the guy says it is. After reviewing a bucnh of posts over this forum, I found a few guys in texas and louisiana that had some things for sale a few years ago, but I guess they are all gone. Also...

Yeah but doesn't look like it has enough potential for my fiancee to let me keep it

Re: wanting an AA dual wheeled (157"w.b.) chassis
yeah I saw his ad, I just want to be foolish and take on a bigger project than that. Also is his 157"? It didn't really look like it to me.
I do however want something that at least rolls, so that I'll be able to move it around easier.
Thanks for looking for me guys.

Re: 31 AA chassis questions
188 was the stakebed. One thing to consider, the 157 truck is a long truck and probably won't fit in your typical garage and it can be hard to find bodies for them. On the other hand, you don't see many. This was one of the reason why I wanted to know if the length was truely 188" even for the...

Re: 31 AA chassis questions
Here are the pictures from the guys add. Hes saying that it is the 157" wheel base, but I don't know if it is. I used the fence boards behind it to try and guesstimate the length but it is kind of difficult because the picture isn't that great of quality. I thought there might be some distingui...

Re: 31 AA chassis questions
thanks for all the quick responses, I guess I am just overally nervous because if this transaction doesn't go so well, I don't know how my fiancee will handle it. She is generally supportive about what I do in the garage, and I want to keep it that way. Aince I've always wanted an A/AA I figure that...

31 AA chassis questions
I'm new at all of this, really should say I haven't even started, and just got of college a year ago. Always been drawn to the A and AA. I've decided to jump in and found what is suppose to be a 1931 Ford Model AA with the 157" wheel base. Its just a roller (frame, suspension, mechanical breaks...
