Re: Model A engine rebuilders

I would recommend antique engine rebuilders in Skokie Illinois. Several of my club members have used them. They do a complete short block for 2300. No tax and shipping is a standard 100.00 each way. They have very good reviews and a good warranty on the rebuild. You basically get a modern engine bac...

I will try and install some hub caps tonight. I was worried the rear end went together wrong.

28/29 rear wheel stud length.

I have April 29 AATruck that has 2” long wheel studs on rear. I need to replace them. I called Bert’s and they have 1 3/4 or 2 1/4. lengths only. The 2 1/4 have 1 1/4 inch shaft with 1 inch of thread. My studs have 7/8 shaft with 1 1/8 inch threads. I will be installing wire wheels on this truck. Do...

Re: 28/29 brake hub

Took drum to my machinist and I believe it is to thin to turn. Heavily pitted and would need to turn down to .130 to clean up. Also he estimated 2-4 hours machining time with setup - 120.00 to 240.00 dollars. I told him I would look for better hub.

28/29 brake hub

Has anyone had the rear brake hubs turned. My right one is in great shape but the left rear has a lot of rust and pitting. I disassembled the bearing center from the hub but not sure how or who turns these. Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated. Also - If someone has an extra brake hu...

I bought the last one on EBay after auction ended. I contacted the guy and offered 600.00 and he accepted it. Came with shift handle and near perfect gears.

Re: Shock Rebuilding

One of the shocks I removed was stamped “AA” and “CW”. Was the AA front shocks any different than th A shocks? I do believe the shock arms are bigger.
