Re: Oil filter on timing gear cover

Interesting. Looks like it is just a timing cover with a place to mount a filter cast into it, all
the plumbing appears to be external.

Re: Oil filter on timing gear cover

I've heard of a valve cover oil filter but never a timing cover oil filter.

Glad you got it home. Looks like there is an issue with the wishbone ball socked.

Hi Brent, I just did a search on Parts Voice for BB-3030 and it shows Dennis Carpenter has 6.

Re: Build Year

From the Judging Standards " Assembly date for a vehicle may be as long as three months after the date the engine was produced(four months in 1931)." Then after being assembled it would have to get to a dealer and be sold so I would think early 1931 is very possible for your truck.

That's the wrong one. The one Snyders has is for the 5.14 the one Oldscratch needs is for the 6.6 gears.

Here's the link https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-screw-buster.html
I made one a few years ago, just cut the end off an air chisel tool and weld a
5/16" 1/4" drive socket on and a short piece of round stock for a handle.

Re: How many classes of AA trucks

They used a heavier front axle starting in 1930 but all the AA's were rated at 1 1/2 tons.
