Re: Express bed boards

agreed - looks like the cone insulator/actuator broke apart and spring shorted out the contact to ground.

If you paint the fuse holder a nice satin black it blends in nicely with the engine compartment.

Re: running boards

Hehehe look awfully familiar if they came from where I think they came from... Yes AA running boards design 2, does have the brackets that someone torched off the frame and missing the middle one on one side. The one thats missing the bracket underneath is boogered up due to rust. Both are pretty st...

Ive also noticed the flatbed tow trucks generally have rear fenders and those are rather large (and wide but can always trim em down) tire diameters.

Re: fan belt size

I can't say anything about hitting the water pipe, but the 44 works just fine on mine... Frank Theres like 7-9 different shaped water pipes over the years to accommodate different generators and running changes. You may have gotten one where the generator is free to swivel out more - usually its th...

Re: downshifting transmission help!

when down shifting you must increase the engine rpm - usually go by ear. Go around in 2nd gear and listen to the engine rpm tone - when you get to your hill you have to downshift from 3rd, clutch in shift to neutral, clutch out - blip the throttle till you reach 2nd gears rpm then clutch in and shif...

Looking for dual high fill tube and dipstick. Factory 28-29 dual high.
If you can't find one (usually missing), one can be made from an engine dip stick. I don't remember why there was two designs.
is the difference between the "round" case vs the "hex" case style dual highs?
