Re: AA on ebay

I cannot believe what this AA on ebay sold for: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181620555268?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&autorefresh=true I think the original '31 AA I was trying to sell was worth twice as much as that one, but after putting mine on ebay twice, and this forum...

Re: Rear leaf spring forward link bolt

I think you need a one piece hard steel sleeve. If you have access to a lathe, you can make them.

Re: Rear leaf spring forward link bolt

The shear strength would not be lessened by reducing the diameter to fit a bushing as long as it remained larger than the threaded portion.. Just freeze the bolt and heat the bushing with a .003" interference and there will be no rotating going on...
I'd rather have a used/new correct bolt...

Re: Windshield frame final paint

The rubber seal to be masked is the weather seal around the bottom and sides (frame to cab seal). So, there would not be any glass involved. If that seal can be installed without crimping the metal retainer strips, then it would be best to install the seals after painting and just mask off the wind...

Re: Windshield frame final paint

Some more input regarding painting - this is per Marco Tahtaras (one of the Judging Standards Committee experts). The door latch (i.e. the part installed on the edge of the door and which Ford named "door lock") was installed prior to painting. Consequently, the latch (lock) and installation screws...

Dang. :( I was just browsing the member list yesterday at who was still around since the inception of this forum. You've been holding down #9 for nearly 12 years, and we've gotten kinda used to ya. No worries. We'll wait here patiently for ya to get back. Have a spectacular holiday. Best, Russ Ditt...

Hey folks. Great to see so many familiar old names and great to see so many new names too. Career change and address change took several years to solidify, and I think it's near time to get back to work on the 82A. Will be digging it out of storage next week or two. Surely forgot most of what I'd l...
