I've heard that dum-dum was used originally but what is the best thing to use between the wood header/rear cross member and the cab?
Thanks,

Re: Wanted: 29 AA Rear Frame Spacers
Neil,
I will get out and measure what I need but even if I have to shorten one, that won't be a problem. According to the parts list, I need 2 of the AA-5117 and one AA-5116 but I will double check the lengths.
Thanks,
Drew

Re: Emergency brake for 29
The rod lengths listed above are for the rod that goes from the emergency brake lever to the cross shaft. I think JPP is referring to the rods that go from the cross shaft to the rear hubs which would be 59 3/4" long for a '28-'29 AA.

Hi Neil,
I need two of the middle spacers, AA-5117-C, and one of the front spacers, AA-5116-C.

Re: AA Flatbed
Roadster AA,
Neil is obviously the AA resource, but his typing may have fallen behind his encyclopedic-like brain because I think he meant to tell you that the platform floorboards are 5/4" thick.
Good luck with getting her put back together!

Cut-out to Terminal steel conduit paint color?
I ordered a new cut-out to terminal conduit that came in gray primer. What color were they originally?

Re: original truck
What a gem of a truck! You are going to make a lot of the AA guys jealous with that one. It looks like you have a 1929 AA, 82-A Closed Cab with the 88-A Platform and 134-A Grain Sides. The long running boards and rear fenders were discontinued in July of 1929 so your truck must be earlier than that....

Did you balance your tires?
Looking for opinions on whether balancing the AA's tires is necessary at the speeds we go. My tire shop didn't even consider trying to balance mine. Has anyone used traditional or stick-on weights? I assume it ends up being quite a bit of weight to balance these beasts. Has anyone tried Dyna Beads?

Re: Welt for bottom edge of roof
Hello Barney,
It looks like Marco has the welt going around the entire perimeter of the roof, including the front, in this picture:

Re: Welt for bottom edge of roof
It looks like the cowl welt has a 1/8" diameter but the vinyl windlace doesn't say. Good catch Bill. The cowl welt is $3.50 and the vinyl windlace is $18.95 for 10 feet. I can't see much difference from the pictures on the website.

Welt for bottom edge of roof
I recently got a Lebarron-Bonney roof kit for my '29 Closed Cab. It came with the hide-em welt but there isn't any of the other welt as shown in Marco's pictures #26(original welt) and #30(new welt). http://abarnyard.com/temp/82-a/82a-26.jpg http://abarnyard.com/temp/82-a/82a-30.jpg I don't see this...

Installing windlace/door seals
Am I right in assuming that the alignment of the doors is done without any windlacing in place as the alignment is being done prior to final paint?
